This plaque located along the Shining Sea Bikeway reprints the words to "America the Beautiful" written by someone who was born in Falmouth. Coming from this neck of the woods, traveling to Chicago and thence to Pike's Peak reportedly was the inspiration for her to write the words to one of America's favorite songs.
